Dr Dilip R. Patel, MD, MBA, MPH, CPHQ, CPE, FAACPDM, FACSM, FSAHM
Dr. Dilip Patel is Professor and Chairman, Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine,
Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine, Kalamazoo, Michigan,
U.S.A.
Dr. Patel has received training and is board certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics
in the specialty of Pediatrics, and four distinct subspecialties: Adolescent Medicine,
Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, and Sports Medicine. In
addition he holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare, a Master in Public Health
in Public Health Practice; and a Graduate Certificate in Global Health from the University of
Massachusetts. His main clinical practice and research interests for over 20 years in the United
States, are in pediatric sports medicine, adolescent behavioral health, and neurodevelopmental
disabilities. He has edited over 20 books and 25 special journal symposia. Dr. Patel has
published more than 350 book chapters and articles. Dr. Patel has presented numerous lectures
and workshops nationally and internationally. Dr. Patel has received many professional awards
including the Adele Hoffmann Visiting Professor Award of the Society for Adolescent Medicine,
and the William Weil Endowed Distinguished Pediatric Faculty Award of the Michigan State
University. He is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and
Developmental Medicine as well as fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Patel
is a certified physician executive and a vanguard member of the American Association of
Physician Leadership.
