- Adjunct Professor of Adolescent Medicine in Dept of Pediatrics, Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune from 1may 2018. (Honorary professor July 2016 to April 2018)
- Senior Consultant in Adolescent Pediatrics & Head of Adolescent Clinic at Jehangir Hospital Pune
Past designations : Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Grant Medical college & JJ Hospital in Mumbai (1981-89) and Professor of Pediatrics in BJ Medical (1989-91). Senior consultant and Associate Professor and a PG teacher in Bombay Hospital & MRC (1991-2001) MAX hospital Delhi (2002) and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital New Delhi (2003 - 2014).
Training aboard : Medical Informatics in Harvard Medical School and MGH Boston, USA (1989-90). Adolescent medicine –USA (2001and 2008). International Lactation management trainer in USA (1996) and Disaster management in USA (2001) WHO OP Training in Adolescent Health Bangkok 2004
Awards : Lady Pediatrician of the millennium by IAP in 2000. Many awards for her academic work and research papers .Recent: Honorary professor IMA2017, Life time award for research from IAP Research group 2018 and HFCL award for her community and philanthropic work 2017
Fellowships : From IAP and AAP – American Academy of Pediatrics She is unique that inspire of being a pediatrician she has trained herself in various mental health programs ( NLP, REBT Rajyoga etc ) and combined her medical knowledge and mental health knowledge to work on holistic health and teach about body and mind connections to the community using her customized holistic health packages for lay public of all ages pediatrics to Geriatrics
In the last 10 yrs she has conducted a large number of workshops for parents, teachers, students both from school and college in many cities of India through her NGO AACCI. Started in 2007 (www.aacci.in) She is also a motivational speaker and does programs for Corporates on Healthy life style to prevent NCD, anger and stress management etc
Work in Professional Associations : President of IAP- Indian Academy Pediatrics in 2000 (The 7th woman President and only woman president in the period from 1987 to date 2018).
Many International organizations e.g.: IPA- International Pediatric Association (2001-13) in various capacities; Regional Vice President and on the council of IAAH – International Association of Adolescent health (2009-17)
She also worked as member in WHO committees of Child and Adolescent health (2009-10). She is a master in parenting training programs and teaching skills of dealing with teenagers and youth
Publications : She has edited/written more than 25 books both for doctors and lay public .The first book on Adolescent medicine in India is called Bhave’s Text book of Adolescent Medicine published in 2006 (2nd edition in 2016) Her English book on Anger management by SAGE Publications has been translated into Hindi and Tamil Her English book by NDTV /Byward publications on Adolescent the wonder years has been translated into Hindi, Telgu, Tamil, and Bangla
Extracurricular activities : She has won awards for debates, elocutions, dramatics, sports etc and, walked the ramp for Indian Cancer society program -as woman achiever in Delhi in 2004
